The CDIF Framework for Modelling and Extensibility
The CDIF Framework for Modelling and Extensibility Standard defines the CDIF architecture. All other CDIF Standards (Transfer Format and Meta-model) depend on this standard.
The CDIF Framework defines a formal four-layer meta-modelling architecture, and the CDIF meta-meta-model. It also defines the CDIF extensibility mechanism.
First published in 1991, it was revised in 1994. In April 1997, the working group was re-established to again review the CDIF Framework to address comments raised by the international review of CDIF in ISO/CDIF, and by the work of the Object Management Group, under the leadership of Ed Eykholt, Rational Software who resigned in July 1997. It is now headed by Woody Pidcock, Boeing.
