Harmonization of CDIF with Standards Bodies
As the old joke goes, "we don't need more standards, we need more integrated standards"
Standards integration has always been a very high priority for ongoing CDIF work.At this point, CDIF has several formal and informal liaisons with other standards bodies:
- Object Management Group.
CDIF has a liaison with the OMG whose goal it is to define one integrated meta-model for object analysis and design.
- The UML Partners
CDIF has been cooperating with the partners defining the Unified Modelling Language for Object-oriented Systems Development to define one integrated meta-model for object analysis and design.
- ECMA TC33: PCTE (Portable Common Tool Environment):
PCTE uses the CDIF Integrated Meta-model as a repository schema for software engineering data
- ISO IRDS (Information Resource Dictionary System):
IRDS uses the CDIF Integrated Meta-model as a repository schema for software engineering data
- ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7/WG11 (Software Engineering Data Definition and Representation):
SC7/WG11 standardizes CDIF on an international level and is thus often called "ISO/CDIF".
- ANSI X3L8 (Data Representation)
- ANSI X3H4 (Open Systems Repository)
- IEEE P1175 (Task Force on Professional Computing Tools)
